Arts programs at the University of Lynchburg offer something for everyone. Whether you want to shine on stage, cheer from the audience, or view unique art on display, the arts will enrich your experience here.
Art
Art and design are powerful tools used to make an impact on our world. Art students create work, design visual campaigns, and interact with faculty in our top-notch studios and art labs.
Get your hands dirty in a pottery class, learn to utilize our 3d printer, or become a web designer. Explore different mediums; hone your storytelling and composition skills.
Music
Musicians wanted. Bring your instrument, or your voice. Regardless of your major, we want to share the stage with you and let you express yourself.
Or, join the audience. See a small chamber choir performance or a major stage show, with a wind symphony, orchestra, singers, and dancers. Whether you’re looking for entertainment or for a performance opportunity, the music program has something for you.
Theatre
Students get involved in every level of theatre at the University of Lynchburg. It’s more than just acting a part or publicizing a show. Students play a collaborative role throughout the process. Also, you don’t have to be a theatre major to land a major role on stage. So put a new spin on Shakespeare, or try your hand at modern theatre. Or just kick back and enjoy the show.
Daura Museum of Art
Our on-campus museum, named for Catalan-American artist Pierre Daura, hosts art exhibitions throughout the school year. Visiting the gallery provides a great way to see art you might never see otherwise.
Not content with being an observer? Try out a museum studies class or an internship, and you might have the opportunity to work hands on with art -- maybe even curate your own exhibition.
