The United States Congress signed into law on March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Among many provisions, this act provided relief to institutions of higher learning and their students. A second, similar law was signed on Dec. 27, 2020, Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) to provide additional relief. The American Rescue Plan (ARP) was signed into law on March 11, 2021, and provided the third round of Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds.
