University of Lynchburg is a college/university partner with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). SHRM is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to human resource management. SHRM serves the needs of human resource professionals by providing the most current and comprehensive resources.
Through this partnership, University of Lynchburg offers the SHRM Learning System which prepares professionals to take the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). To sign up for this program, students need to register for MBA 601, Human Resource Management.
University of Lynchburg also offers the SHRM Essentials of Human Resource Management Certificate Program as part of its management major. Students will need to register for MGMT 362 which is offered each fall semester.

Both MBA 601 and MGMT 362 are taught by Dr. Sally Selden, PhD, SPHR, who has written extensively on human resources and has been grading and evaluating organizations’ human resource management systems.
