Wind Symphony
The Wind Symphony develops ensemble techniques, music reading ability, and general musicianship, and acquaints students with a wide variety of collegiate literature.
For music majors who will become teachers, the wind ensemble provides experience in organization, music selection, and program planning. All participants benefit from opportunities to perform and become more disciplined.
The Wind Symphony performs 3 major concerts per semester. Membership is by audition. The conductor of the Wind Symphony is Dr. Oeida Hatcher.
Jazz Ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble is composed of a select group of musicians who share a common interest in the specific style of jazz literature.
The ensemble is open to all students, regardless of major, and is a fulfilling experience for each participant. The conductor of the Jazz Ensemble is Dr. Chris Magee.
Percussion Ensemble
The Percussion Ensemble presents concerts at the end of both the fall and spring semesters. Its repertoire includes a broad range of percussion literature, ranging in scope from baroque transcriptions to 20th century avante-guard compositions and includes both large-ensemble pieces and solo works.
Percussion Ensemble members are also encouraged to work creatively and to arrange, transcribe, or compose various works for their concerts.
Entrance into the ensemble is at the discretion of the director, Dr. Chris Sharp.
Orchestra
The Orchestra develops ensemble techniques, music reading ability, and general musicianship.

Handbell Choir
This Handbell Choir is composed of University of Lynchburg students, professors, alumni, and a select group of community members, who perform traditional as well as contemporary handbell music.
Previous handbell experience and a basic music reading ability preferred, but no auditions are required. For more information, contact Dr. Johnson Scott, handbell director.
Chamber Music Ensembles
The Chamber Music Ensembles are composed of select groups of musicians who have an interest in performing a variety of chamber repertories.
Piano Performance Ensemble
The Piano Performance Ensemble consists of students who are interested in furthering their performance opportunities in solo, duet, and group venues.
Paderewsky Piano Club
This club is comprised of University of Lynchburg students who are interested in learning a variety of piano repertories and performing at dinner parties and soirees.
