Lauren Fishbein ’18 is in Richmond this summer, working in the Office of Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam. She was one of 23 people selected for the Governor’s Fellows Program from colleges and universities across Virginia and the U.S. Fishbein, who lives in the Richmond area, is the first Lynchburg College graduate to win this fellowship.

Student manages winning City Council campaign
This past winter, when Beau Wright was looking for someone to manage his campaign for Lynchburg City Council, he spoke about it with someone who worked on Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s winning 2017 campaign. Wright said they gave him one name: Carter Elliott. “So, I called Carter and we met for lunch,” he said.
