Fall 2024
All full-time undergraduate students are required to live on campus at the University of Lynchburg, with the following exceptions:
- Student lives with a parent or legal guardian
- Student is married
- Student is a single parent
- Student is 23 years of age or older
- Student has 85+ earned credit hours and has been approved by the Office of Housing and Residence Life to reside off campus
If you’re a new student planning to live on campus you must complete the First-year Housing Application (new first-year students) or the Transfer Housing Application (new transfer students). The application will help us match you with a roommate based on your lifestyle and preferences. To access the applications, log onto your Housing Portal and then click on the “Applications” tab. The corresponding application will be displayed based on first-year or transfer status.
Accessing the Housing Portal
Before a student can log into the portal, they MUST set up their University of Lynchburg network account, and activate their account and email through our Passport webpage. The student must then wait 24 hours before using that username and password to log into their Housing Portal.
First-year Students
After submitting their housing application, first-year students can search for roommates through the Housing Portal.
To do this, go to the Housing Portal, select “Room Selection,” and then choose “Select Roommates.” Please ensure the “For the Term” is Fall 2024. To be matched with a roommate, students must invite and accept each other in the system. Only students who have completed the housing application will appear in this process. Students can search for roommates by first name and last name, or by a variety of search criteria. We encourage all students to complete a Roommate Profile, located under the “Personal Information” tab, to enhance the roommate search function.
The First-year Housing Application deadline is June 30, 2024. First-year student roommate requests are due June 30, 2024. Students who have not selected roommates by June 30, 2024, will be paired with a roommate by the Office of Housing and Residence Life and notified of the roommate match no later than July 5, 2024.
New first-year students will select their housing assignments electronically through the Housing Portal July 9-11, 2024. Students will receive an email to their University email address with their specific selection date and time. All incoming first-year students are placed in Montgomery and Tate Halls.
Any residential first-year students admitted after June 30 will be manually assigned to housing.
Transfer Students
The Transfer Housing Application is due July 14, 2024. Transfer students and other incoming students will be placed in one of our returning student residential facilities. The housing coordinator will utilize responses shared on the application to make assignments. Any residential transfer students admitted after July 14 will be manually assigned to housing.
Housing Accommodations
The University of Lynchburg accepts and considers requests for reasonable accommodations in campus housing at any time. Individuals requesting accommodations should complete and provide the Disability Accommodations Request Form for University Housing as soon as possible before moving into campus housing.
However, if the accommodation request is made fewer than 60 days before the individual intends to move into University housing, the University of Lynchburg cannot guarantee it will be able to meet the individual’s accommodation needs during the first semester or term of occupancy.
To be considered for housing accommodations, students must apply for housing accommodations through the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources. This can be a lengthy process, so students will want to review these guidelines and begin the process as soon as possible. The priority deadline for new incoming first-year or transfer students to apply for housing accommodations is noon on July 2, 2024.
