In 1869, an eternal bond was formed between three VMI cadets who stood against the rampant hazing and abuse of cadets that occurred at the school. Their bond in the “Legion of Honor” quickly grew into what is now Sigma Nu Fraternity; a brotherhood committed to excelling with honor.

Student Judicial Board (SJB)
The Student Judicial Board (SJB) resolves charges of alleged violation of the Honor and Student Conduct Codes as assigned by the Office of Community Expectations and Restorative Practices. SJB members are selected through application and interview processes. Students serving on the Student Judicial Board provide vital leadership to the University of Lynchburg community by upholding standards of academic and behavioral excellence and by enforcing University policies in an educational and equitable manner.

The Jewish Community At the University Of Lynchburg
The Jewish Community at the University of Lynchburg enables students to celebrate Jewish life on campus by providing opportunities for Jewish students to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity. The Jewish Community encourages its members in the pursuit of tzedek (social justice), tikkun olam (repairing the world), and Jewish learning. We sponsor activities such as Pizza in the Hut for Sukkot, a Hanukkah party, a Passover seder, and educational programs.
